Psychosocial Support Specialists

Who are we?

Dynamic Ability is a registered NDIS provider bridging the gap between disability support and mental health expertise. We provide services across all stages of life, from children to older adults, throughout Perth (SOR), Mandurah, and the Peel Region.

Founded in 2023 by Donna, a Clinical Mental Health Nurse, and Amanda, a qualified Social Worker, Dynamic Ability was created from a shared belief that true change happens through relationships — not just services.

We proudly support people across a broad spectrum of disabilities, including:

  • Psychosocial disabilitiesmental health conditions such as PTSD, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and Major Depressive Disorder.

  • Neurodevelopmental disabilities conditions affecting brain development and communication skills, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

  • Cognitive disabilitiesconditions that impact memory, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities, such as Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Dementia, and Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

  • Developmental disabilitieslifelong conditions that affect learning and adaptive functioning, such as Intellectual Disability, Global Developmental Delay, and Down Syndrome.

Our multidisciplinary team takes the time to understand each person’s unique story, tailoring support to build on their strengths and work through challenges at their own pace.

Our approach is grounded in compassion, respect, and collaboration. By combining professional expertise with genuine human connection, we create safe, supportive spaces where people feel heard, valued, and empowered to build skills, confidence, and independence.

At Dynamic Ability, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, achieve their goals, and live a fulfilling life. We’ll walk alongside you every step of the way, recognising your strengths, respecting your choices, and providing the right support to help you get there.

Our Mental Health Nursing supports sit under Core funding and focus on helping participants maintain day-to-day wellbeing and safety.

Our nurses provide compassionate, practical assistance with health monitoring, medication management, and early intervention to prevent escalation of disability related symptoms or crises.

They also support participants to develop healthy routines, manage risks, and stay connected with other healthcare professionals.

By working collaboratively with the wider team, we aim to promote stability, confidence, and sustainable recovery — empowering individuals to live well at home and in their community.

Capacity building supports

Our Capacity Building supports help participants build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to achieve their goals and improve independence.

Delivered by qualified allied health professionals, these supports may include daily living skills, emotional regulation, communication, and community participation.

Each session is tailored to the person’s strengths, preferences, and learning style, ensuring progress that feels both achievable and meaningful.

We take a long-term, collaborative approach that encourages growth, resilience, and empowerment — helping participants create lasting change and reach their full potential.

supports

Our Social Work supports provide short-term, goal-focused assistance designed to help participants overcome barriers and move forward with clarity and confidence.

This may involve navigating major life transitions, resolving immediate challenges, or connecting with appropriate supports and community resources.

Social Workers also assist participants to better understand and navigate the NDIS, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop strategies for future independence.

With a focus on practical capacity building and emotional support, we aim to make progress feel achievable while setting the foundation for long-term stability.

functional capacity assessments

Our Psychosocial Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) provide a clear, evidence-based picture of how a person’s disability impacts their daily life.

Unlike standard functional capacity assessments, psychosocial FCAs explore areas such as motivation, emotional regulation, cognition, and social skills to capture the full picture of a person’s needs.

Using a trauma-informed and collaborative approach, our clinicians gather insights from participants, informal supports, and providers to produce a detailed, evidence-based report.

The outcome helps guide NDIS access, reviews, and funding decisions, ensuring the right supports are in place to promote safety, independence, and wellbeing.
