Areas of experience + interest
Donna has extensive knowledge and experience in the mental health sector. She brings with her a comprehensive skill set associated with acute inpatient, high dependency inpatient and community mental health settings. She has worked intensively with clients with complex psychosocial needs, supporting them to remain in the community, avoid hospital admissions and reduce episodes of crisis. Donna's areas of expertise include: trauma informed care, early episode psychosis, individualised community living strategies, psycho-education, assessment, triage, case management and coordination of services.
Strengths & Passion
Donna is passionate about breaking the stigma around mental illness and advocating for her clients and their individual needs. Donna's overarching aim is to help reduce the impact of psychosocial illness on an individual, their families and community alike so that they can live a happy, healthy and safe life. Her holistic approach can help to build positive, lasting relationships in their lives in a way that is meaningful to them.
Away from work
Donna enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys cooking, eating out, listening to music and watching tv. She is a dedicated mum of two, with two fur babies also. Her sense of humour and optimism shine bright. She practices mindfulness by creating gratitude lists, taking time to be present in the moment and going for walks.

Starting her career as a Registered Nurse and later re-training to become a Social Worker places Amanda in unique position to understand complex health and disability need from a medical, social and environmental prespective. Prior to co-founding Dynamic Ability, Amanda was a team leader in the disability sector where she worked intensively with individuals living with intellectual disabilities, ADHD, autism, FASD, schizoaffective disorder and challenging behaviours. Amanda also has widespread experience in the areas of palliative care, childhood trauma, domestic violence & addictions.

Amanda has exceptional skills in supporting people to achieve their goals and a passion for empowering individuals to build the confidence and skills required to overcome barriers in their lives. Drawing on her own lived experience of mental health and trauma Amanda understands that it is the "simple" things in life that often add the most value. She approaches her work with a true sense of compassion, understanding and hope ♡
Away from work
Amanda enjoys eating out, travelling and taking part in aerial fitness classes. Spending time with friends and family is also important to her. She is a step-mum to one teenager and in the early stages of planning a wedding. Listening to music, walking and being creative are her favourite ways to practice mindfulness.
